OUR STORY

We believe the most vivid gateway to a country is through food. Our specially curated menu hopes to evoke your imagination to experience the history, rich culture, love, and our own personal memories of Myanmar. We invite you to join us on this journey.

Welcome to Club Rangoon.

Founder

Nelson Htoo

With a deep-seated passion for food, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and a craving to globally represent his beloved country, owner and founder Nelson Htoo has always striven toward familiarizing himself with various celebrated restaurants across the globe. As a result, he’s obtained rich experience and expertise; enough to finally start his first foray into the culinary world.

With an urge to fill a specific void in the local dining community, Nelson is swiftly radiating the influence and experience of his undying love for Burmese cuisine into the Hong Kong community. Come over for a chat, meal, and a coffee (or something a little stronger from Hnin) to meet the family that brings Burma straight to your soul.

IN THE KITCHEN

Charrin Singdaechakarn (Chef Noom)

Hailing from Isan, a Northeastern province of Thailand, Chef Charrin Singdaechakarn, or Chef Noom as she is more commonly known, is no stranger to the cuisine close to her roots.

Beginning her career at 24, she brings with her over a decade of experience in South East Asian cooking. Starting out in the many Thai kitchens of Sydney, Australia and moving onto becoming Head Chef of the city’s Jack Style Thai Restaurant, Chef Noom’s transition to Hong Kong was welcomed with the post of Chef de Cuisine with Soul Food Thai by the renowned hospitality group, Black Sheep Restaurants. Most recently holding the position of Head Chef in Thailand at ASAI Bangkok Chinatown, she continues to create authentic dishes brimming with character.

Widely renowned for her passion for the cuisine of her homeland and her unapologetic approach centered around quality, Chef Noom’s expertise and regional knowledge will be welcomed within the Hong Kong dining scene as she continues to do what she does best: executing uncompromising flavors.

BEHIND THE BAR

Hnin Pwint Aye

With years of experience helming bars at renowned hotels, Hnin Pwint Aye is as dedicated as any to the art of bartending. Starting as a waitress before becoming a mixologist and finally, a bar manager, her skills within hospitality and the food and beverage industry have evolved alongside her career.

Her passion and roots from Myanmar will be instrumental as she manages the bar at Club Rangoon, developing its authenticity and distinctive character. Hnin brings to the scene first-hand knowledge of Burmese ingredients and flavors to curate a unique beverage programme for Hong Kong's only Burmese restaurant — set to create an experience that one won't be forgetting anytime soon.
