Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Catfish fillets cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon Tamarind paste
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 Green chilies slit
  • 1 handful Coriander leaves chopped

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add tamarind paste and coconut milk. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Add catfish pieces and cook for another 10-15 minutes, until fish is cooked through.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
