Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg Hilsa Fish cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 2 cups Water
  • to taste Salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. Clean and cut the Hilsa fish into pieces.
  2. 2. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. 3. Heat mustard oil in a large pan. Fry the fish pieces until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same pan, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5. Add garlic paste, ginger paste, and red chili powder. Sauté for a few minutes.
  6. 6. Add water and bring to a boil. Add the fried fish pieces and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
  7. 7. Adjust salt to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice.
