Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Fish fillets preferably catfish
  • 200 g Rice noodles
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 4 cups Water
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 1 bunch Cilantro chopped, for garnish
  • 2 Limes cut into wedges, for serving

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add fish fillets and cook until tender. Remove fish, let it cool, and flake it into small pieces.
  2. 2. In the same pot, add chopped onion, minced garlic, fish sauce, turmeric powder, and chili powder. Cook until onions are soft.
  3. 3. Return flaked fish to the pot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. 4. Cook rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. 5. To serve, place a portion of rice noodles in a bowl, ladle the fish soup over the noodles, and garnish with chopped cilantro and lime wedges.
