Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Combine the rice and water in a pot with a lid.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and serve.
