Steamed Sweet Sticky Rice

- 2 cups glutinous rice
- 1 ½ cups water
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Drain the rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth.
Steam the rice over boiling water for 30 minutes.
While the rice is steaming, mix coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
Once the rice is done, transfer it to a bowl and pour the coconut milk mixture over it. Stir to combine.
Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
