Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the oil.
  4. Add the water, turmeric powder, and salt to the saucepan. Stir well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
